  • Clear Creek Lake – 13 miles NE of Duncan. 102 hook-ups on gravel or concrete, 3 pavilions, 2 boat ramps, fishing house, and docks.
  • Duncan Lake – 10 miles E of Duncan. 44 hook-ups, pavilion, boat ramp, fishing house, docks, horse riding trails, disc golf course, and sports ranges.
  • Lake Humphreys – 8 miles NE of Duncan. 44 hook-ups on concrete, pavilion, 3 boat ramps, floating enclosed fishing dock, and a mountain bike trail.

Rock Island 905 Train Depot and Museum

Museums:

  • Chisholm Trail Heritage Center – Toss a rope around a Longhorn steer; ride a bucking bronco; create your own brand or sit a spell near the campfire and listen to Jesse Chisholm as he offers advice to a young cowboy on his first cattle drive. In the multi-sensory Experience Theater, smell the wildflowers of a springtime Oklahoma prairie, listen to the thundering hooves of a cattle stampede, and feel the wind and rain on your face as a storm rages. – 1000 Chisholm Trail Parkway, Duncan, OK – 580-252-6692
  • Rock Island 905 Museum – Located in Duncan’s Fuqua Park, the Rock Island 905 Depot features an old Rock Island steam locomotive #905 in addition to an on-site museum and gift shop housed in a replica 1892 train depot. The 4-6-2 Pacific locomotive was originally built by the American Locomotive Company in Schenectady, New York, and situated in Fuqua Park in 1954. The old locomotive was coal-fired and could reach top speeds of 100 miles per hour. Come and see this piece of Duncan’s proud history and step back to a time when Duncan was the first scheduled stop of the 905 passenger train. Stroll inside the Rock Island 905 Museum and browse fascinating exhibits like dispatcher phones, a dispatcher desk, and a variety of communication-themed displays. The Foreman Prairie House
  • Stephens County Historical Museum – Visiting the museum can transport you back into a simpler time; you can literally “step” into Grandma’s kitchen or the family dentist’s offices. See authentic room vignettes filled with treasured antiques, memorabilia, and other artifacts depicting pioneer life in Oklahoma. There is an exceptional arrowhead collection, stone collection, and fossil collection. Whether your interest is early-day photography, music, crafts, Indian lore, farming, or machines, the Stephens County Historical Museum can satisfy your curiosity in a charming fashion. Hundreds of dolls of several generations have found a home here. Art, photographs, and memorabilia from the county’s largest employer, Halliburton, are on permanent display.   • The Foreman Prairie House – This 1918 prairie-style, two-story brick home is one of the best remaining brick examples of prairie-style in Oklahoma. The Foreman House was built by W.T. Foreman, one of the most prominent pioneers of Duncan. The costliest home in Duncan when built, the Foreman House offers a glimpse into early Oklahoma lifestyles and is known for its architectural significance.
